Somewhere between dog
naps last week I managed to find time to go and network with some of the other
building tenants. Half way through my Lemon Drizzle Slice, my ears pricked up
when I heard a conversation between some of my neighbours about how they dress
for work and more importantly meetings and presentations.
I looked around the
room and there were many people there, all dressed differently – from casual
right the way across to a full suit and tie, some even quite fashionable. I
found it interesting that so many people in the same building had different
ideas of what is acceptable work attire and what isn’t – I mean even night
clubs have a dress code (or so I’m told)!
In my view, how you
dress for work should be an important part of your overall marketing strategy.
After all, you are a walking, talking advert for your business. Whatever persona
you give to your business through its branding and communications, how you and
your staff present yourselves should reflect that to ensure consistency of
message.
As a dog, I want to be
seen by others as cute and innocent in order to receive fuss and treats so I
wear a curly blonde coat as it effectively represents the image I am hoping to
portray. Does what you wear for work fit in with the image you are building
with your company's branding?
See you next time!
